Dutch American Football team Hilversum Hurricanes played at the Arnhem Falcons on June 16, 2018. In the first Quarter both teams were not able to score. That changed in Q2 when the guests scored 3 points with a Field Goal, which was tied by the Falcons, shortly afterwards. Before the break Joost Holtslag of the Falcons scored a TD, followed by a PAT and the scoreboard showed 10-3 for the home team. Q3 was quite exciting, with both teams obviously being each others match and wearing each other out, without much gain. Then, suddenly, a TD + PAT by The Hurricanes tied the game. Against the end of Q4 the Falcons got many chances to score, but, to the regret of their fans, a couple of mistakes were made instead. A touchback brought the score to 12-10 for Hilversum and after the Falcons had lost the ball due to another mistake, this was the final score as well. The winning team has gained the home advantage for the play offs next weekend. On June 24 the teams will meet again, this time in Hilversum. The winner will compete for the annual Tulip Bowl, on July 8, 2018 in Amsterdam, against the leading team in the AFBN competition: Lelystad Commanders.
